Since 1992
The legacy of the famous Hwa Heng Beef Noodles lives on in Ah Chew. Ah Chew Yong Tau Foo and Beef Noodles was started by Mr Tan Lang Chew, originally one of the partners of the Beef Noodles business, formerly known as Hwa Heng Beef Noodles.

In 1992, Mr Tan decided to diversify his menu when the Mad Cow Disease struck. Using his expertise brewing beef broth, he created a different soup base and began to offer Yong Tau Foo, a traditional stuffed-tofu-and-noodle soup that is a favourite among Singaporeans.


He made use of his expertise in brewing beef soup to create a unique, aromatic soup that made his Yong Tau Foo stand out.  Today Ah Chew is spearheaded by Mr Tan’s son, Jeffrey, who took over the business from his father. He refined the stall and product concepts further and expanded the business to major food courts around Singapore. Ah Chew’s business now consists of several outlets serving yong tau foo and beef noodles.
